The picture shows  the prize draw box being held expertly held by Duty bailiff Eddie Hiroz, winning permit was draw by Alistair Proudfoot, MAA member. The draw took place on Friday 1st September 2017.

Congratulations Mr King!

September is off to a good start with some nice fish to around 3lb 8oz. Pictures show regular G. P. Goh and a second timers, father and son, team Lewis with a couple of fine rainbows. Stocking of Rainbow and Blue Trout takes place regularly at Harlaw throughout the season.

On Sunday evening Andre arrived at Harlaw with his family and some brand new fishing kit. After some casting instruction and the gift of a couple of flies from Mark, the duty bailiff, Andre caught his first Rainbow.

As you can see from the picture, Andre and his son were both delighted.

Prize draw winner for July is Mr MacSkimming of Lanark, permit number 20711. Day permit angler Vincent Pastor picked the permit and bailiff Jim McComb held the prize draw box.

Each completed catch return gets entered into a monthly draw. If you would like to be in with a chance to win a free days fly fishing at Harlaw and Threipmuir Reservoirs, Edinburgh - make sure you hand the bailiff your completed catch return when you leave the water.

Brown Trout at Threipmuir Edinburgh

Threipmuir has been fishing really well following a slow start and low water levels. June has seen some fantastic catches with fine Brown Trout to approx. 4lb. Lee Currie has kindly sent in some great photographs summing up a pretty incredible month. Threipmuir is now full of water and has received several stockings earlier this year, although it also contains a good head of over-wintered and wild fish.
